2026 World Intellectual Property Organization Meeting

Dr Sharon Wong, Executive Director of HKRRLS and Vice-Chair of the Asia Pacific Committee of International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO), was invited to speak at the World Intellectual Property Organization side event on 19 May 2026, organised by IFRRO, on the topic of licensing solutions in the text and image sector.

In her sharing, Dr Wong spoke about Hong Kong’s experience in educational licensing, the evolving digital landscape, and the ongoing discussions surrounding AI and Text and Data Mining (TDM) exceptions.

Dr Wong also met with Ms Sylvie Forbin, Deputy Director General of the Copyright and Creative Industries Sector of WIPO, and exchange views on the future development of copyright, licensing, and AI-related issues at the international level.
